چکیده

Malignant melanoma is known for its wide range of histologic patterns and its ability to mimic other malignant tumors. Malignant melanoma is generated in the skin and sinus paranasalis by a malignant tumor of melanocytic origin. Malignant melanoma is usually quickly diagnosed by the presence of melanin granules. On the other hand, amelanotic melanoma is without melanin granules and is often difficult to differentiate from nonepithelial malignant tumors. Recently, fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) was used to treat widespersed mammary glands, thyroid area, and lymph nodes. As for the reports of amelanotic melanomas that metastasize to the mammary gland and the ovary. However, no other detailed study has been reported on transmission electron microscopy. This study stresses the importance of immunohistochemical staining and electron microscopy for a Journal of Analytical Bio-Science Vol. 32, No 4 (2009)

Fine needle aspiration study of the abdominal cutaneous and subcutaneous nodules

Background: Abdominal cutaneous and subcutaneous nodules are uncommon benign or malignant lesions. The majority of the malignant nodules are metastatic in origin and may be the initial presentation of a primary malignancy; hence, an early diagnosis is important. Our aim of this study was to find out the spectrum of lesions (both non-neoplastic and neoplastic) that present as cutaneous and subcu...

But, until recently, very few reports have been obtained regarding the role of FNAC in nonthyroidal neck masses in children. Hence, the objective of our study was to determine the diagnostic value of fine needle aspirati...

Cytodiagnosis of disseminated histoplasmosis in an immunocompetent individual with molluscum contagiosum-like skin lesions and lymphadenopathy

Disseminated histoplasmosis is caused by the dimorphic fungus Histoplasma capsulatum (H. capsulatum). The early clinical manifestations are nonspecific, often lead to diagnostic difficulty, and is misdiagnosed as tuberculosis and seen usually in immunosuppressed states. Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is a simple, safe, and quick technique to establish the initial diagnosis of H. capsula...
